At Elitfönster you have several options to find the right wood windows in terms of both appearance and function. You can choose between four basic models of solid wood windows. Elit Complete Wood is our most modern timber window. It has triple-glazed insulaton units which provide very good energy-saving features and include the reversible window, also known as H-window, which makes it possible to turn around 180 degrees.
Elit MF Duo is a simplified, side-hung wood window. The sashes are double-glazed insulation glass units. Inside, the windows have profiled joinery.
Elit Tradition 2+1 is a good solution if the house should have wood windows with traditional glass dividing glazing bars of wood. These windows have linked casements that are divided when cleaning , double-glazed in the inner sash and a single glass pane in the outer sash. Perfect for a veranda for example, or even in a villa from the beginning of the 1900's where you want to preserve the old building traditions. Elit Tradition 1+1 has, as the name suggests, a single glass in both the inner and outer sash. This is the most original type of linked wooden windows.
So why think about alternatives to wood windows? Well, one reason is to avoid painting the window. Wood never stops breathing and needs to be saturated with paint. But taking good care of the beautiful wooden windows can of course also be a labour of love.
